From installation to your first tracked series — everything you need to know in one place. Most users are up and running in under two minutes.
Click Add to Chrome on the Chrome Web Store page. Chrome will ask you to confirm the permissions — review them and click Add extension. The Weave icon will appear in your extensions bar.
Works on Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave. Any Chromium-based browser that supports Chrome Web Store extensions will run Weave.
Click the Weave icon in your extensions bar (or pin it for easy access). On first launch, a short setup wizard appears — it asks about your viewer preferences so Weave can personalise your experience. You can skip any step or redo setup later in Settings.
You can start as a guest immediately — no account required. An account option is available if you want to sync your library across devices in the future.
Navigate to a supported streaming or reading site (Crunchyroll, MangaDex, HIDIVE, Webtoon, and 80+ others). Weave detects the title on the page and shows a small banner: "Would you like to track this media?"
Click the banner (or the Track button in the popup) to add it to your library instantly. Weave auto-fills the title, type, and any metadata it can find.
Click the + Add button in the popup or full library to open the entry wizard. Fill in the title, choose a media type (Anime, Manga, Manhwa, Movie, TV Show, Light Novel, and more), set your current episode or chapter, and save.
You can also paste in alternate titles (romanised and native script) to help Weave match cover art from AniList, MangaDex, or other sources.
In the popup's Latest Tracked list, each entry has a play/read button on the right. Tap it to increment your episode or chapter count by one. Tap the edit icon to open the full entry and make larger changes — jump to any episode, change status, or add notes.
Status options: In Progress, Planned, Completed, On Hold, Dropped, and Won't Engage.
Click the grid icon in the popup header to open the full-screen library view. From here you can:
Weave awards XP automatically as you track progress. Common XP events:
Your XP bar is shown at the top of the full library. Reach new levels to unlock titles and badges.
At certain episode and chapter counts (3, 5, 10, 20, and every 15 after that), Weave may ask how you are enjoying a title. These surveys are always optional — you can dismiss them at any time — but answering earns +25 XP.
A star icon on any entry in the popup means there is a pending survey for that title. The full library also shows a banner when surveys are ready.
Survey responses are stored locally and are never sent to any server. They are used only to inform your personal media ratings within the extension.
Yes. You can use the full extension as a guest — add entries, track progress, earn XP, and use all features. An account is optional and will be useful in a future update for cross-device library sync.
Everything is stored locally on your device using
chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB. Nothing is sent to a
server. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
You can always add any title manually using the + Add button. Auto-detect only works on whitelisted sites, but manual entry supports any title regardless of where you watch or read it.
Import from external lists is on the roadmap. For now, entries can be added manually or via auto-detect.
Currently, Weave is built for Chromium-based browsers: Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave. Firefox and Safari support may come in a future release.
